Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions can vary based on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional charges. A full and valid driving licence suitable for the chosen vehicle category is required, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification, proof of your current address, and payment details, including a security deposit. Ensure you meet any other specific requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by phone, or directly at our Canvey Island office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle collection. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed through established payment providers for your security.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Canvey Island, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. Please return the vehicle in the same condition it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. 7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses for Rentals
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities or purposes. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous maneuvers is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is strictly forbidden. Driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes and within the specified passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle beyond the agreed geographical boundaries without prior permission is prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire cannot be held responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services in Canvey Island. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
